Ciena – a world supplier of WaveRouter has been unveiled by equipment as a purpose-built router that is designed to work with the metro network. WaveRouter will transform metro traffic to meet bandwidth-hungry applications, including 5G, high speed Internet, corporate services and cloud.
This router was designed to address the needs of the service providers who are struggling with increased bandwidth demands brought about by the services. WaveRouter architecture is scalable from 6Tb/s all the way up to 192Tb/s. It provides flexibility for growing networks.
WaveRouter’s unique design combines traditional chassis and leaf-spine design, using Ciena’s WaveLogicCoherent optics combined with intelligent multilayer control create a flexible, new hybrid architecture. The WaveRouterThe third quarter of the year 2023 will see this technology available.
